Dr. Emad Abdou
Dr. Emad Abdou is a Brooklyn native who received his bachelor's degree from Hunter College. He went on to complete his dental education at New York University College of Dentistry. He then completed his general practice residency at Wyckoff Medical Center in Brooklyn, where his passion for surgery developed. He began his surgical training with a one-year oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx followed by a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
Dr. Abdou then pursued a one-year fellowship in pediatric maxillofacial surgery at the prestigious Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. During this time, he received extensive training in the treatment of facial congenital anomalies as well as neonatal and pediatric maxillofacial pathology under some of the world’s leading experts in the specialty. Dr. Abdou specializes in the treatment of children and adults with facial anomalies, including cleft lip and palate, and with tumors and cysts of the face and jaws. He also specializes in corrective jaw surgery. In addition, he has a special interest in dentoalveolar surgery, complex bone grafting, and dental implant reconstruction.
He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Association.
